Part-Time

Responsibilities

Conduct Private Lessons

Offer individual lessons in guitar, piano, strings, or voice for students, including but not limited to beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels

Customized Curriculum

Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that align with the student’s abilities and musical goals.

Worship Integration

Teach students music that supports worship services, seasonal events, and church-related performances. Guide students in understanding how music serves in a worship context.

Student Evaluation

Regularly assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet students’ evolving needs.

Recitals/Performances

Regularly assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet students’ evolving needs.

Maintain Positive Relationships

Regularly assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet students’ evolving needs.

Professionalism

Regularly assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet students’ evolving needs.

Qualifications

Flexibility

Ability to adjust lesson content to align with worship services, seasonal themes, and special events.

Organized
  • Ability to accompany students on piano or guitar, or proficiency in other instruments is a plus.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks  and projects simultaneously

Collaborative

Ability to work well within a Christian ministry setting, with respect for the church’s mission and values.

Communicator
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Communication with Parents/Guardians: Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, attendance, and performance opportunities.

Experienced
  • Proven experience as a music instructor, with a strong background in guitar, piano, strings, or voice.
  • A degree in music, music education, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, and basic music history.
