Part-Time

Responsibilities

Teach Dance

Create and teach lessons for individuals or groups and customize lessons to push and meet students’ needs.

Choreography

Design dances for performances, recitals, and community outreach.

Music Selection

Choose music for dance performances.

Lesson Plans

Create lesson plans and goals for class(es). Help students accomplish plans and goals each semester.

Student Evaluation

Assess students’ performance and progress and provide feedback for improvement.

Recitals/Performances

Organize and prepare students for periodic recitals, church performances, or other special events, as requested. Pick out all costumes for dances.

Maintain Dance Skills

Keep up with dance techniques and skills. Grow yourself as a teacher.

Record Keeping

Maintain records of student’s attendance, progress, performance, etc.

Maintain Professionalism

Maintain professionalism and respect for church values and ministry during lessons and in all interactions with students, parents, and church staff.

Qualifications

Time-Management

Be able to use class time wisely and effectively.

Organized

The ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Collaborative

Ability to work well within a Christian ministry setting, with respect for the church’s mission and values.

Communicator
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Communication with Parents/Guardians: Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, attendance, and performance opportunities.

Experienced
  • Proven experience as a dance instructor.
  • A degree in dance or certifications preferred.
  • Professional dance or equivalent experience.
